Ticking the “Bucket List” – Going North

April 12, 2024 Categories: NewsRegatta Racing

Sailing the Barrier Reef, the Whitsundays and all points north & south have been a part of my life since my early 20’s.

This year we are off again on the “Northern Campaign”, incorporating race regattas at Airlie Beach, Hamilton Island and Magnetic Island. In addition, we will be hosting charter cruises and corporate days in this tropical paradise.

Having raced in the Whitsundays for the past 25 years, 2024 sees us taking our beautiful Swan 57 Yacht from Moreton Bay to the Whitsundays to compete once again.

For the third year now, the magnificent “Green Beacon White Swan” will be competing in the three “Winter Regattas”.

For years, these regattas have been a great excuse to escape the winter chills, for our southern neighbours to compete in the best of the best yacht racing competitions in the country…. getting away from the cold!!

There is no need to be a seasoned sailor, ours is an opportunity to introduce people from all walks of life to the exhilarating world of yacht racing. Young, old, male, female, novice, experienced, or anywhere in between, Sailing Adventures caters for all and sundry with professional crew, great times and lifelong memories.

These regattas are about more than just a set of sailing races … The foundation of any yacht racing is teamwork. One only needs to look at the ultra-professionals in any sport who continually espouse the role of the “Team”. It’s easy for a skipper, captain, CEO, MD or chairman to look good and do well when they have a great team … At Sailing Adventures …. That’s what we are all about – Developing a team.

At Sailing Adventures, we develop TEAMS!

For more than 40 years the focus of my yacht racing and business career has not been about “trophy hunting”, it’s about developing a team that can see the trophy and understand that it is not a given. It’s a clinical process to “hunt the trophy”.

BTW, the “trophy” is often, the realisation that we have achieved the next level or what was our aim… My trophy has always been, seeing a team achieve their goal. Whether it is in yacht racing, business or life … it’s no different.

However, there’s one rider, it must be fun along the way.

Enjoyment fun and camaraderie are the catalysts that make it work.

So join us…If you are looking to tick a sailing adventure of a lifetime off your bucket list you will not regret taking this opportunity.
