Hamilton Island Race Week Update

May 30, 2020 Categories: News

Hamilton Island has provided an update on Race Week 2020, advising that the racing component of the regatta will proceed in August unless they are not able to do so due to government restrictions. The normal onshore social component is cancelled to ensure the safety of all guests at this time.

This is very welcome news and we congratulate the organisers on their efforts to keep this wonderful event going this year. We support their efforts and very much look forward to going back for this, our 21st year!

In many ways, this will be a return to the style of the regatta from the early years with a more simple format. A lack of the normal on shore social component will not greatly affect our program. The camaraderie, food and hospitality will be as great as it always has been.

Stay tuned for the final go ahead. In the meantime, check out Hamilton Island Race Week 2020 for further details. We have two boats entered with a third ready and waiting. Get in touch if you would like any further information. This is a great opportunity to enjoy breaking free from lock down and escaping to the warmth and buzz of this great event!

Here’s what some of our participants have said in the past….

“I want to personally thank you for one of the most inspiring experiences of my life.”

_______

“Great sailing, great rivalry, great communion & fellowship, it was a shame to leave and come home. There is little to add.”
